New Hope Respite

New Hope Respite

New Hope Respite at Smithville is a faith-based respite center which offers a comfortable, stimulating environment for people with dementia related diseases and Alzheimer's, beginning & middle stages.  It is a mission of F.U.M.C. Smithville in conjunction with Alzheimer's Texas and meets every Thursday from 10 AM-2 PM in the Family Center.

Respite allows the caregivers a break from day to day duties while the person with dementia engages in stimulating activities with new friends. Our guests participate in Bingo, suitable chair exercises, musical activities and are served a hot, cooked lunch.  This mission is FREE to all participants and is open to all regardless of religious affiliation, ethnicity or race..  For more information visit our web-site .  If interested in  registering someone for the program or becoming a volunteer, please call Brenda Zimmerman at 512-352-0099 or Nancy Brady at 512-718-0400.
