The mission of the Smithville First United Methodist Church is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Smithville FUMC is working toward becoming a missional church, actively serving people in need; people who cannot speak up for themselves.  We are involved in mission work locally and around the globe.  If you would like more information or to get involved in mission work, take a few minutes to look through our website.  You will find information and opportunities for involvement in several of our current mission projects.

THE GREAT REQUIREMENT – ‘He has shown all you people what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.’ (Micah 6:8)

THE GREAT COMMANDMENT – ‘Love each other as I have loved you.’ (John 15:12)

THE GREAT COMMISSION – ‘Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’ (Matthew 19-20)
